Our Beliefs
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. God's Word as revealed in the Holy Bible is our sole authority in matters of faith and practice. We do agree with, however, and accept the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Our History
Shop Springs Baptist Church was constituted in a schoolhouse in the community of Shop Springs on January 28, 1882. The church has always been fully supportive of Southern Baptist education and mission activities. Ordained ministers and dedicated laymen have gone from Shop Springs to places all over the state of Tennessee, the United States, and the world serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
